Orhun Orhon, chief

One of the leading orchestra conductors of his generation, Orhon worked with Professor Gürer Aykal in the field of orchestra conducting. He has been admired for his interpretations that are faithful to the characteristics of the period and style, and his interpretations and recordings of contemporary Turkish composers, and has received many positive reviews. Orhon has also played an active role in national and international ensembles such as the World Youth Orchestra (WYO), the Turkish Greek Youth Orchestra (GTYO), and the National Youth Symphony Orchestra (UGSO). In 2008, he became one of Vladimir Ashkenazy's assistants in the Turkish Greek Youth Orchestra, and in 2011, he had the chance to work actively with the famous conductor Kurt Masur in a workshop in Germany. Again in 2011, the Ankara Youth Symphony Orchestra, which he founded with his students, was met with interest and took the stage in many prestigious events, especially the Ankara Music Festival. As of 2017, Orhon has become the guest conductor of the Istanbul-based Hezarfen Ensemble, which has distinguished itself in modern music interpretation, and the NK Ensemble.

Orhun Orhon, who works as a faculty member at Başkent University State Conservatory, is the first conductor of Orchestra Academic Başkent.
