HISTORY

The festival, organized by the Sevda-Cenap And Music Foundation, also gives birth to its own traditions. The most established of these traditions is that the opening and closing concerts of the festival are given by a symphonic orchestra each year. Another essential aspect of the festival is the inclusion of young talents in the program and joint performances that allow Turkish artists to meet with foreign artists and groups.
Another tradition of the festival is the reflection of the musical capacity of Ankara, the cultural capital where the first polyphonic music movement of Türkiye began and the first music institutions and schools were established, and the inclusion of artists from Ankara in the program every year. The performance of works by Turkish composers is an indispensable part of the festival. Audience tendencies also play a major role in the creation of the festival program. With the surveys conducted every year, the tendencies of the people of Ankara and the changes and liveliness in their social lives are reflected in the festival program in the categories of chamber music, jazz, nostalgia, vocal, modern dance and Flamenco.
