Cedar Walton (Dallas, January 17, 1934 - New York, August 19, 2013) was one of the most influential jazz pianists from the late 1950s to the present.

In order to commemorate him, important musicians of the jazz world come together as the Piero Odorici quintet. Masetro Cedar Walton also prepared a CD for Piero Odorici titled “Cedar Walton presents Piero Odorici” due to their friendship.

Odorici is accompanied by Roberto Rossi, one of the most important representatives of jazz in Europe, on trombone, Josh Ginsburg on bass, Pasquele Fiore on drums and Danny Grissett, one of the most interesting pianists in American jazz today and a deep connoisseur of Walton's music, on piano.

Piero Odorici , tenor saxophone

Born in Bologna, he was introduced to music by his trumpeter father and accordionist uncle. He started playing the trumpet at the age of nine and switched to the saxophone at the age of ten. After several years of classical studies, he became interested in jazz music and deepened his studies in this field, first under the guidance of Giorgio Baiocco, then Sal Nistico and Steve Grossman.
